What is the difference between a Legacy Portrait and a Themed Portrait?

Our studio offers two distinct session experiences, each designed to capture your family's story in a unique and meaningful way.

 

Legacy Portrait
The Legacy Portrait is a timeless and elegant experience, perfect for showcasing your family’s finest moments. Set against a traditional background, this portrait highlights the beauty of formal attire, with families providing their own wardrobe to reflect their personal style and sophistication. Carefully posed and meticulously composed, the Legacy Portrait creates an heirloom-quality piece that exudes grace and celebrates your family's legacy.

Children’s Themed Portrait
Themed portraits are all about fun and imagination, capturing the magic of childhood in a vibrant, interactive set. With playful props and attire provided by our studio, these sessions allow your child to fully immerse themselves in a whimsical, storybook-like experience. Perfect for bringing out their joy and personality, the themed portraits are a celebration of carefree play and creativity.

While the Legacy Portrait preserves your family’s elegance and history for generations to come, the Children’s Themed Portrait celebrates the playful, fleeting moments of childhood. Together, they tell a complete story of your family—combining timeless tradition with the magic of now.

What are the age requirements?

In order to make the most of your experience, children should be able to take direction and interact during their portrait experience. Each photo is created as we play on our set so the ideal age for each child is 3 or 4 years old. We can, however, create beautiful images of children as long as they are able to sit unassisted, they just won't be able to interact for our experience, so this is more of a traditional portrait sitting.

What should my child wear for the fairy or fishing experience?

We provide wardrobe for children ages 12 months to 12 years. If your child wears a size we do not provide please bring them to their session dressed and ready for their appointment.

What should my child wear for the Santa Claus Experience?

We provide wardrobe for children ages 12 months to 12 years. If your child wears a size we do not provide please bring them to their session dressed and ready for their appointment.

What should my family wear for a Legacy Portrait?

Going to a nice restaurant, attending a wedding, or a fundraising gala are the few times we tend to dress formally. At these events we want to present our best self as we celebrate with family and friends. This is how we suggest you dress for your Legacy Portrait.

How should we prepare?

A few days before gather everything you plan to bring. If you must cut your child’s hair, do so a week or two before the event. If possible, plan your session during a time that corresponds with your smallest child’s ‘best time.’ When you arrive, take a deep calming breath and trust us. We’ve been doing this a long time and we know what we’re doing. Our goal is to not only give you amazing artwork but a great experience. Just sit back and watch the magic unfold.

Is the session fee per family or per child?

The session price is all inclusive for immediate family. If you would like images of extended family, like a cousins picture for Grandma, we will happily book your two families back to back. However, each family unit will need their own session.

Where are you located?

We just moved into a brand new one-of-a-kind fully immersive studio space located in the Elm Terrace Shopping Plaza. Our GPS friendly address is: Elm Terrace Shopping Plaza Wheeling WV 26003. If you wan to get to the right place, please do not use a unit number when inputting our address into your GPS (ask us how we know)! See out "location" page for clickable Google Maps directions.

What is your late policy?

You must be on time for your session or risk forfeiting it. Our sessions are booked back to back all day long and we operate at full capacity.

​

What is your cancelation policy?

All sessions are non-refundable. If you need to cancel your session for any reason you forfeit your session retainer fee. You may reschedule once at no charge as long as you do so 30 days prior to your appointment. Any reschedule requests done within 30 days of your appointment can be made if there is a date available for a $75 rescheduling fee. 

 

 

What type of investment can I expect?

Only purchase what you love, we build a collection based on your needs. There are no pre-set packages here, we pair what you love most so that you end up with a collection that is best suited for your family. Our portraits start at $350 and our albums begin at $3,550, our large exquisite masterpiece portraits start at $1,800 and can go upwards of $14,000 for hand paintings. Some families spend hundreds, others spend thousands but the most important thing to remember is there is something for everyone. We don't have a price list to send out since all of our portraits are unique to each client. We price everything during your viewing and selection appointment because pricing varies depending upon the finish, size and quantity of what you select and every person wants something different. We also offer financing options, some with no interest options, to help clients be able to get what they love most!

Do you sell digital files?

We are not a digital only studio however, we do have the ability to discuss the option of purchasing a matching digital of any purchased printed art piece.

Is there any purchase required or can I just come for the experience?

There is no minimum investment required on sessions, however, most people fall in love with what we create and want to have these images as an heirloom to look back on forever…long after their children outgrow the magic of childhood.
